My name is Opal, and I own Sweetbay Photography.

I’m also a proud mother of a fabulous 20-year-old, happily married to my Prince Edwin and a daily dog trainer to my three very spoiled fur babies (see photos below).

My grandfather was also a photographer. This has been a lifelong hobby that somehow, magically became a career 20 years ago.

I absolutely love this job. I have so much fun photographing people, and I hope to never grow out of it.

I am easy going, patient, and friendly. I work with confidence and give a lot of direction. I'm always smiling, professional and in tune with people. I am at an event or session most every weekend of the year so I have a TON of experience. I will treat you like family.

By the end of an event, guests love me, families love me and I feel like a new friend.

I photograph weddings, not because I love weddings, but I love capturing moments and weddings are full of meaningful connection, emotion, and fun candid moments.

My passion is capturing emotion and candid photos. Creating portraits that feel real.

My purpose in life is to show up in the lives of others and create a collection of photos for them. Photos that will allow people to relive these days again and again.

Most people keep me in their life for all their future family photos as well. It is magical to stay in touch for years after and keep capturing the same families year after year.

One of the things that sets me apart from other photographers is my connection to people and my flexibility.

I am in tune with people in a way that I feel is unique. I connect with kids instantly. Even the most challenging ages will be still, catch my eye contact, and smile with me.

I am a people watcher at events, knowing what expression is coming next, knowing when to step in or step back.

I help couples plan their entire wedding day if they need it. I am happy to help make photo timelines, reception timelines, full-day timelines, or whatever is needed. I'll help find you the best florist, cake, party favor. I do so

much for people who choose to work with me.

I consistently arrive early and stay late. I am aware that everyone always needs a little extra time. I am never late to anything. You'll find me parked near the event an hour before me start time just going over the family names and relationships ahead.

I often go out of my way to accommodate what a couple is looking for or needs. In growing my business, I learned what people really wanted and offered what felt right, rather than what everyone else was selling. Connecting, understanding, and making it work rather than selling. Every couple is different.

I have trained a team to take some events for me to help keep the pricing manageable for those who need a break. There have been times when I lowered my own price just to work with someone with whom I really connected with.

I’m busy editing and delivering your photos quickly, responding to emails right away, and being available to my couples for calls and texts—more than I’m on Instagram making reels and promoting myself online.

Bottom line is I care A LOT, and I work my butt off at every event, every session, and everything I do. I give 100%.
