My name is Opal, and I own Sweetbay Photography. I’m also a proud mother of a fabulous 19-year-old, happily married to my Prince Edwin and a daily dog trainer to my three very spoiled fur babies (see photos below).

My grandfather was also a photographer. This has been a lifelong hobby that somehow, magically became a career 19 years ago. I absolutely love this job; I have so much fun photographing people, and I hope to never grow out of it.

I am easy-going, patient, and friendly. I work with confidence and have a lot of direction and experience. I will treat you like family, and by the end of most events, I have become a new friend. Your vision, your feelings, and your experience being photographed are all important to me. I photograph weddings because they are full of new memories, emotion, and fun candid moments. (Come to think of it, I photograph kids for the same reason.)

My passion is capturing moments. Creating portraits that feel effortless and real. My purpose in life is to show up at events and create a collection of photographs that will allow people to relive the day anytime they look through them. My gift to you are photos that capture all the faces, emotions, funny times, and heartfelt moments of your event. Most people keep me in their life for all their future family photos as well. It is magical to stay in touch for years after and keep documenting the same people year after year.

One of the things that sets me apart from other photographers is my flexibility.

I often go out of my way to accommodate what a couple is looking for or needs from me. In growing my business, I learned what people needed and offered what felt right, rather than what was typically sold.

I have always been fair and compromising, rather than just like everyone else.

For instance, I have always edited and included all of the digital files at no extra charge. I consistently arrive early and stay late. There have been numerous times when I lowered my price just to work with someone with whom I really connected with or who just needed a break in cost.

When we started offering video, it made sense to me to include all of the video files and footage, rather than attempting to upsell them on top of the service itself.

I am worth every penny of your investment and then some. I realize I could charge more; I know that. But it’s not about making more money for me. It’s about capturing your wedding day and preserving all the moments and memories for you to cherish forever. It's about keeping me busy, shooting events every weekend, which is where I find my happiness. This responsibility means a lot to me!
