I got a phone call, and this sweet voice asked me if I wanted to photograph a birthday party in Sausalito. It was her own party—she was making all the plans. She wanted to know if I was a photographer who captures candid photos. I said, “LADY! You came to the right person. Sign me up!”
It ended up being such a blast. I was so inspired by all these people. I won’t reveal their ages, but let me just say—they are looking AMAZING. So healthy, so vibrant. I was blown away. All I wanted to do was find out everyone’s secrets. “Always exercise,” one said. “Get a good esthetician,” said another. “Stay happy,” someone else added.
Come to find out, she found me because the venue had me on their list. Crazy—I had no idea. I think I was there maybe once, like five years ago. How flattering that the venue even remembered me and added me like that back then. It’s not like I hand out cards and schmooze the way I probably should, haha.
Anyway, such a great party.
